Grading Policy

Evaluation of learning will come in many forms that are either formative or summative. Cumulative grades for tests, major projects, and homework will count for 60% for each academic quarter (9 weeks). Students will be given one test grade for all cumulative homework or class work in each quarter.  Cumulative grades for daily assignments, quizzes, and minor projects will count for 40% for each academic quarter (9 weeks). There will be a cumulative exam at the end of each academic semester (18 weeks) that will count for 20% of the semester grade average. No graded assignment, quiz, or test will exceed a score of 100. Bonus points may not exceed 5 points per assignment, quiz or test with the total score not exceeding 100.


Grading Standard
1. CCHS will use the following grading scale for Standard College Preparatory and Honors level of study:

A = (93-100)         B = (85-92)           C =  (77-84)          D =  (70-76)         F =  (69 and below)

2. CCHS will use the following grading scale for Advance Placement (AP) courses:

A =  (90-100)     B = (80-89)           C =  (70-79)          D =  (60-69)         F = (59 and below)
