Brenda McCombie is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in environmental design/architecture. She began her professional career as a supervisor for DuPont. While working for DuPont, she continued post graduate studies in business management. Mrs. McCombie held several positions in marketing and management with local businesses. She started two successful design businesses, selling one and closing the second to become the founding chair person of Coastal Christian High School. Mrs. McCombie volunteered in this role for six years, stepping down to chair the Capital Campaign. She successfully led the fundraising efforts that resulted in the building of the CCHS facility and then stepped off of the Board of Directors in the fall of 2012 to become the Executive Development Director for Coastal. She has since completed two major projects: the varsity home baseball field and the new multi-purpose soccer field. Mrs. McCombie was appointed to the position of Administrator on August 14, 2014. In her personal life, she has been married to Paul for 27 years and is the mother of Austin and Grace, both CCHS graduates. Mrs. McCombie attends Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she has been an active member for 36 years.



Kevin Culotta graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNC Wilmington in May of 2008 with a BA in English and a concentration in secondary education.  Mr. Culotta also holds a North Carolina Teaching License for both English and history and completed his master’s of education in educational leadership at Covenant College in May of 2017.  His teaching career began as an intern at Ashley High School and continued at Shallotte Middle School until the fall of 2010 when he came to CCHS.  In the past four years Mr. Culotta has served as the English I, Honors World History, and AP European History teacher and in August of 2014 he assumed the position of Director of Education. More importantly, Kevin has been married to his wife Charlotte since 2009 and together they have three children named Jack, Andrew, and Katie. The Culottas are members of Coastal Community Church in Carolina Beach.



Pat Martin received a sociology from Mars Hill University, followed by a M. ED from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Additionally, she has completed numerous professional development and post graduate studies in her 30 years in education in North Carolina and Florida. Previously providing counseling, college advisement, and career development for Guilford, Pender and New County Schools, Mrs. Martin brings a variety of experience and skill to meet the needs of our students. She is a member of the American Association of Counseling and Development, North Carolina Association of School Counselors, and associate member of the National Association of Christian Colleges and Universities. In addition, Mrs. Martin is the proud mom of her son Hunter and has been a member of Christ Community Church for 11 years.



Jennifer Snyder graduated Suma Cum Laude from Babson College with a BS in marketing and communications. She began her career in advertising working for leading ad agencies in New York and Boston before relocating to Winston-Salem, North Carolina as the Director of Promotion for a regional agency. In her career, Mrs. Snyder worked with major brands like American Express, AT&T, Pepperidge Farms, Parker Brothers, and Hanes. Mrs. Snyder married her husband, Paul, in 1991, and in 1995 took a 12- year hiatus in her career to raise their four children: Casey, Luke, Matthew, and Jackson. Mrs. Snyder returned to the work force originally as a founding board member of CCHS and for the last 11 years as Director of Admissions. She has a passion for the performing arts and co-directs the CCHS musical theater productions and serves as the performing arts coordinator. The Snyder family moved to Wilmington in 2000 and attend Port City Community Church.



Mike Scheffel graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2007 with a BA in communication studies. He started his coaching career 11 years ago at Cape Fear Academy. Coach Scheffel coached at CFA while finishing his last two years of college. Upon graduation, Coach Scheffel seized the opportunity to join the staff of CCHS to begin and grow the athletic program at Coastal. Under his leadership, Coach Scheffel has grown the program from 7 teams to 22 teams and successfully championed Coastal’s membership in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association and the newly created Coastal Rivers Conference. In addition to his duties as Athletic Director, Coach Scheffel continues to passionately coach Varsity Boys Soccer and Varsity Girls Basketball. He has been married to Amber for 5 years and is the proud father of daughters Gracie Ann and Annalee.  The Scheffel family attends Crossway Chapel of Wilmington.



Cindy Auten is a graduate of UNC Wilmington and has a Bachelor of Arts degree. She began her career as a buyer for Kaufmann’s Department store in Pittsburgh and then went on to become an Account Executive for Clinique Labs, Inc. in western Pennsylvania for a total of 10 years in retail marketing.  Cindy was a founding board member of Coastal Christian High School and served as board secretary before stepping down to assume the role of CCHS’s Development Director in 2008. She has been married to her husband Kim for 30 years and is the doting mother of Caroline and Christopher. Cindy is a member at Port City Community Church.



Montica Miller is looking forward to her fifth year on staff here at Coastal Christian High School, and her ninth year working in the Christian school setting. Mrs. Miller studied Music Education at East Carolina University, but she has worn several hats during in her tenure at CCHS, from Office Volunteer, to Receptionist, to Cheerleading Coach, and full-time Registrar. Mrs. Miller is also thankful for the experiences her three children have had at Coastal. She loves our Lord and she loves serving our students, parents, and staff! Mrs. Miller is an active member of Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church.



Cindy Kuhne has been part time with CCHS for 4 years   Cindy graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta with a BA in accounting in 1992. Her accounting experience includes non-profit and church, legal and trust fund, construction, and campaign finance.  She is originally from Fayetteville, GA, but moved to Wilmington, NC to help start Port City Community Church in 2000.  Prior to moving to NC, she worked as an accountant/auditor for Chick-fil-A Corporation in Atlanta.  She is married (est. 1992) to Chris Kuhne who serves as Sr. Pastor of Worship Arts at Port City Community Church and is mom to three amazing children: Mackenzie, Caleb, and Annie Grace.
